Man remanded to police for rape

MANSEHRA, Dec 22: Local judge Assad Ali Shah on Thursday handed over a man, who allegedly raped a girl and blackmailed her after filming her, to the Kaghan police on three days physical remand.

Mohammad Farooq allegedly sexually assaulted the girl in Koree Kaghan last month after taking her away at gunpoint when she was out with a herd of cattle, and later captured her on film using cellphone.

He also alleged to have threatened the girl that he would make the alleged video clip public if she apprised her parents about it.

The girl's family, however, got an FIR registered against him at the Kaghan police station.

Police shifted the girl to the King Abdullah Teaching Hospital, where doctors confirmed sexual assault on her after examination.

Head constable at the Kaghan police station Mohammad Javed said police had secured the alleged video clip, which showed the girl begging for mercy.

He said the girl's family lodged the FIR after Mr Farooq transferred the video clip to the friends by cellphone.
