Two officials suspended for corruption

SUKKUR, Dec 22: The provincial Secretary Local Bodies has suspended the Assistant Director Local Government, Jacobabad, Muhammad Sadique Leghari, and former Taluka Municipal Officer, Garhi Khero (now Town Officer of Sobho Dero) Nasrullah Sarki, through two separate orders.

The two officers have been suspended for their involvement in misappropriation of funds, according to MPA Ghulam Muhammad Shahalyani of Garhi Khero.

Muhammad Sadique Leghari, he said, has been suspended for misappropriating an amount of Rs24 million, which were allocated to carry out development schemes in 40 union councils of Jacobabad district.

Nasrullah Sarki has been suspended for misappropriating Rs.4.5 million, which were provided under the head of development works.

The action has been taken on the complaint lodged to chief minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and minister for local bodies Agha Siraj Durrani by the MPA.
