‘Missing’ boy found dead in drain

KARACHI, Dec 14: A teenage boy, who went missing two days ago, was found dead in a storm drain in Shah Faisal Colony early Wednesday morning, police said.

They added that Zeeshan Pervaiz, 16, had left his house in Natha Khan Goth to buy milk two days back but didn’t return.Subsequently, his family lodged his disappearance report at the Shah Faisal Colony police station.

The police said the body was recovered from the drain in Shah Faisal Colony No 2 and was shifted to the JPMC for a post-mortem examination.

An FIR (431/2011) of the murder was lodged at the Shah Faisal Colony police station against unidentified suspects on a complaint of the victim’s uncle, Mohammad Riaz, under Section 302 (premeditated murder) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

‘Robbers’ kill manA resident of Malir was shot dead while resisting armed bandits on the Superhighway early Wednesday morning, police said.

The police added that Sadiq Kareem, 46, was intercepted by two suspects near the vegetable market along the highway and they attempted to deprive him of valuables. As Kareem tried to put up resistance, the suspects shot at him twice and fled, the officials said.

They said the victim suffered two bullet wounds and died on the spot. His body was shifted to the JPMC for a post-mortem examination.

The victim resided in the Millat Town area of Malir, the police said. An FIR of the incident was yet to be lodged at the Sohrab Goth police station till Wednesday night. —Staff Reporter
