Pakistan's Nov trade deficit $2.17 billion

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan's trade deficit widened to $2.17 billion in November, from $1.71 billion in October, according to the Federal Bureau of Statistics.

The trade deficit was $1.4 billion in November last year, the official data released late on Friday showed.

Exports fell to $1.55 billion in November, from $1.72 billion a year ago, according to the bureau. Imports totalled $3.72 billion, up from $3.12 billion in November last year.

The trade deficit for the first five months of the 2011/12 fiscal year was $9.06 billion, compared with $6.6 billion in the same period a year earlier.
