Blind murder case unearthed

SIALKOT, Dec 4: The Daska City police have unearthed a seven months old murder case and arrested two people for killing industrialist Muhammad Saleem Mughal.

Inspector Tahir Majeed Khan told reporters on Sunday Saeed Mughal and Asif Machi had confessed to killing Mughal on May 2 this year. His body was found in fields near Ittehad Town in Daska on May 20.

Police say they took the help of telephone calls data of Mughal to trace the killers. The motive behind the murder is stated to be business rivalry.

SECURITY: Up to 154 mourning processions will be taken out in Sialkot on Muharram 10 from different places to be culminated at Imam Sahib Chowk, Adda Pasruriyan, and at Chowk Shaheedan.

District Police Officer Syed Ali Mohsin Naqvi said Ashura would be observed with reverence and religious solemnity in the district. Water and milk distributing stalls will also be set up for the mourners. Mr Naqvi said police were vigilant to face eventualities.

Police and paramilitary troops are patrolling the sensitive areas. Superintendent of Police Nasir Muneef Qureshi told reporters they would man imambargahs and mosques.
