FIR lodged with families` consent, says official

SHIKARPUR, Nov 9: Shikarpur SSP Junaid Ahmed Shaikh has denied registering FIR against 15 people on charges of involvement in Chak firing incident in which three Hindu doctors were killed.

Addressing a press conference at the SP office here on Wednesday, the official said the FIR was registered on behalf of state by SIP Ashiq Mahar at Chak police station with mutual understanding of victim families against seven nominated and threeunidentified accused on Tuesday night.

Police have arrested the nominated accused, including Ahsanullah, Abdul Latif, Abdul Ghani, Mohammad Aslam, Naeemullah, Ubedullah and Abdul Rauf, all Bhayo by caste, from Chak town, Pano Aqil and Kandhkot forest areas and claimed to have recovered two Kalashnikovs and a TT pistol from them. Police were raiding different places to arrest the other three accused, said the SSP.

Replying to a question, he said the motive behind the incident was terrorism and hooliganism.

An arrested accused Ahsanullah Bhayo told reporters that he was trustee “Mutawalli” of a Madressa and headmaster of a primary school and denied his involvement in the incident.

He said he had been falsely implicated in the case and claimed the motive behind the murder was rape of a Bhayo girl by some Hindu youngsters.

The SSP said the arrested persons would be produced in anti-terrorism court on Thursday.
