Two Rangers men held

KARACHI, Nov 3: Two personnel of Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, have been 'detained' for their alleged connections with a suspected carjacker and involvement in disposal of snatched motorbikes, officials said on Thursday.

They said that recently the Anti Car-Lifting Cell (ACLC) arrested a man in the Saddar area, who disclosed that he snatched motorbikes and handed them over to two Rangers personnel — Fateh Sher and Abdul Razzaq.

According to a Rangers press release, the ACLC arrested a 'civilian motorcycle lifter' who disclosed the involvement of two Rangers personnel.

“The Rangers immediately took notice and detailed the two personnel, who are allegedly involved in motorcycle lifting,” it added.

However, police said that the custody of the suspects was not transferred to the ACLC, as they were being interrogated by Rangers.

They said that the Rangers personnel were allegedly disposing of the snatched/stolen motorcycles in the interior of Sindh and Punjab.
