Cattle smuggling bid foiled

LAKKI MARWAT, Nov 3: The political administration of the Frontier Region of Lakki Marwat on Thursday foiled a bid to smuggle cattle to Afghanistan from the tribal area.

FR Lakki assistant political agent Mohammad Fayyaz Khan Sherpao had received information that notorious quadrupeds’ smugglers would try to transport a large number of cattle to Afghanistan illegally via the frontier tribal region,” an official said.

He said acting on the information personnel of Khasadar force posted on different checkpoints were put on alert by the APA with strict instructions to foil any possible cattlesmuggling.

He said the Khasadars stopped five pick-up trucks on Tajbikhel checkpost and seized 48 cows loaded in them.

“The law enforcers also impounded the vehicles, arrested five alleged cattle smugglers and sent them to jail,” the official maintained. —Correspondent
