Inspector suspended over cars theft

KARACHI, Oct 28: An Anti-Car Lifting Cell inspector on Friday was suspended after an inquiry report of the Crime Investigation Department found him involved in car theft and misusing his authority to transport stolen vehicles to Balochistan.

The report said that Inspector Ashok Kumar was heading a group of carjackers and had transported more than 50 vehicles to Balochistan so far. Some of the officials posted at different police posts were also working in collusion with the inspector, the report added.

The inspector was placed under suspension on the orders of DIG CIA Iftikhar Tarrar, said a police official.
