MQM man shot dead in Orangi Town

KARACHI, Oct 17: A 40-year-old man was shot dead in Orangi Town on Monday night, police said.

They added that Mausum Ali, an activist of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, was passing through the Ghaziabad area in Sector 11-1/2 on his motorbike when he was intercepted by two armed suspects riding a motorbike.

They pumped a single bullet into his chest before fleeing, said an official of the Iqbal Market police station.

He said the victim was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The police said that Mausum Ali, son of Muslim Husain, was an active member of the party.

Tension gripped the area with the closure of shops and other businesses following the killing.
