Constable killed, ‘bandit’ wounded

KARACHI, Oct 17: A constable was killed and a suspected bandit critically wounded in what the police described as a shoot-out with bandits in the DHA area on Monday night.

The officials said that three armed men riding a motorbike snatched money from the cashier at a filling station located along the main Korangi Road and fled.

Subsequently, the officials added, two policemen of a nearby community police centre, who were patrolling the area, chased the bandits and an exchange of fire ensued.

The shoot-out left constable Mohammad Hanif dead and one of the bandits wounded.
