MATIARI, Oct 3: MPA Ameer Ali Shah Hashmi has accused Matiari DCO of lacking transparency in distribution of relief goods in the district and ignoring genuine rain victims. Dawn
Talking to , Mr Hashmi minced no words in blaming the DCO for questionable distribution of aid. “I resigned as member of Matiari district relief committee as I couldn't get on with the DCO because of my concerns over the way he was handling relief operation,” he said.
“Genuine rain victims are being ignored and blue-eyed boys of the administration are preferred in distribution of relief,” he claimed.
Before resigning he repeatedly asked the DCO to ensure that genuine victims were not deprived of help but to no avail, he said.
“I have informed the Sindh government about it in writing,” he said.
He said that UCs of Saeedabad and five UCs of Matiari had been badly hit. “Even the government degree college has not been dewatered yet and I don't know who the administration has given pumping machines for de-watering,” he said.
He said that he contacted chairman of Matiari District Relief Committee, Makhdoom Jamiluz Zaman, but he did not attend his call.
