A Few days back I long parked my car at the Karachi airport as I was going to Islamabad from Karachi.

This way, I thought, I would save money and it would also be much more convenient. I availed this opportunity because of convenience and exorbitantly increased fares of taxis. But that wasn’t the case.

I called up Civil Aviation Agency for the rates of parking per day, they said it was Rs120 for the first day and Rs50 for each of the following days.

But to my surprise the rates that the parking attendants were to charge me were Rs300 for the first day and Rs150 for each of the following days.

Upon inquiry the attendant replied that CAA has revised the rates. I asked for any such notification but they failed to do so and claimed that the official decision has already been taken.

I made it very clear that I would only pay as per written order. Eventually they charged me Rs300 (for two days) still without any justification. The other people seemed to be content with whatsoever they were charged and happily paid it.

Such docile attitude and zero resistance of the people is the reason of our woes. Can the CAA clarify its position on this issue?
