Lady Gaga to perform at Delhi's first F1 Grand prix

NEW DELHI: American pop sensation Lady Gaga has been signed up to play at India's inaugural Formula One race next month, which will be held at a newly-built circuit outside the capital New Delhi.

The colourful diva will perform at a concert after the Indian Grand Prix on October 30, organisers said in a press release on Saturday.

US heavy metal outfit Metallica are also slated to play at an “F1 Rocks” gig in the satellite town of Gurgaon on October 28 as a lead-up to the race.

“Formula 1 fans will be able to participate in a spectacle of performance from internationally acclaimed artistes who are travelling to India for the event,” race organisers Jaypee Sports International said.

“Pop legend Lady Gaga will mark the closing of the ceremony.”

Tickets for the race have been priced between 2,500 rupees ($50) and 35,000 rupees.

Separate tickets will be needed for the after-race concert and other entertainment programmes during the three-day event.

Organisers say they have sold 20,000 of the 100,000 race tickets so far, with the cheapest seats all sold out.
