Blood feud claims life in Lakki Marwat

LAKKI MARWAT, Sept 24: A man was killed and another was injured over a blood feud here on Saturday.

Police said that Ameer Nawaz and Jehanzeb alias Jhanga were ambushed by their rivals near Kara Naverkhel village. As a result Ameer Nawaz was killed on the spot while Jehanzeb sustained bullet wounds and was admitted to a local hospital.

The injured Jehanzeb nominated Dilawar Khan, Abdullah Jan, Khushdil, Rehmatullah, Hayatullah, Sanaullah and Nawaz Khan in the case.

In another incident, police arrested a suspect and recovered a Kalashnikov and live rounds from his possession after an exchange of fire in Wanda Gulapa village.

CATTLE SMUGGLING:

The police foiled a cattle smuggling bid and arrested three accused near Tajori on Saturday.

The police had set up a check point on the road near Tajori on a tip-off that cattle would be smuggled to Afghanistan via tribal area. The police signaled a pick-up truck (BU-2177) loaded with cows to stop for checking.

Officials said the animals were being transported to the tribal area illegally as the men onboard the pick-up could not produce relevant documents or permits to carry cattle to the tribal area.

The accused Zafar Ali, Javed and Roidar, residents of Mir Ali tehsil of North Waziristan Agency, were arrested and a case was registered against them.

TEACHERS' SHORTAGE:

JUI-F leaders have demanded of the provincial government to appoint a headmaster and overcome the deficiency of teachers in Government High School Adamzai on priority basis.

Speaking at a meeting held in Tajazai on Saturday, they said future of the students was at stake due to lack of teachers in the school.

JUI's tehsil chapter amir Maulana Asghar Ali chaired the meeting which was attended among others by deputy amir Maulana Afzal Khan, general secretary Maulana Mohammad Iqbal, deputy general secretary Imtiaz Ahmad, finance secretary Maulana Matiullah and press secretary Hafiz Khalid Mehmood.
