Life sentence commuted

PESHAWAR, Sept 21: The Peshawar High Court on Wednesday commuted the sentence of life imprisonment, awarded to two drug pushers, to 10 years rigorous imprisonment each.

A two-member bench comprising Chief Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan and Justice Malik Azmatullah partially allowed the appeals filed by four convicts — Ahmed Zeb, Sher Mohammad, Amir Zeb and Noushad. The appellants were arrested by Anti Narcotics Force on April 21, 2007, near Kohat, when they were travelling in a bus. —Bureau
