CIA men sell scrap seized from thieves

THATTA, Sept 19: Costly scrap declared as 'recovered property' has been loaded from the backyard of the Thatta police station and later sold by the CIA police late on Saturday night.

These materials, including railway tracks and steel girders and miscellaneous items, had been lying in the backyard of Thatta police station and CIA centre after recovery from gangs of thieves during different raids.

Hakim Ali Jalbani, the SHO of Thatta Police Station, informed SSP Mohammad Ali Wassan about the incident.

In a letter to his immediate boss, Mr Jalbani maintained that head constable Faiz Mohammad of Thatta police station who was a witness to the incident, told him that writer head constable of CIA Ali Anwar Dalwani brought a truck in the backyard of police station and loaded 400 maunds of steel and iron rail track girders, pipes, a water tank, iron bars and other scrape material.

The material had been dumped here after busting of different gangs of thieves.

When questioned the CIA police personnel said he was taking away the 'recovered property' on the directives of in-charge of CIA centre Thatta, Nazim Ali Chandio.

The SHO further stated that he immediately put the information on the diary of police station and declared removal of recovered scrap a theft incident.
