Four held in raid on heroin factory

PESHAWAR, Sept 10: Capital city police, in a successful action on Saturday, unearthed a heroin manufacturing factory and arrested four accused, including three women, who were busy in preparing heroin packets at a village in Badhber area.

According to police, CCPO Imtiaz Altaf had received information regarding presence of a heroin factory at Shekhan village in Badhber. He constituted a team led by SSP Operations, Ejaz Khan and comprising SSP Rural Abdul Kalam and SHO Badhber Inspector Fazal Wahid Khan to nab the culprits.

The team conducted a raid on the location and recovered five kilograms heroin, manufacturing machines, plastic packing and equipments for making secret cavities in the vehicles to smuggle the contraband.

Police also arrested four persons, including three women from the factory. The arrested persons were identified as Mukammal Shah, resident of Shekhan, Perveen, resident of Manu Factory, Lahore, Sajida, resident of Gujranwala and Yasmeen, resident of Kore Shah, Gujranwala. —APP
