KARACHI, Sept 4: The Jamaat-i-Islami organised a rally on Sunday in connection with ‘universal veil day’.

The day was being observed throughout the world on Sept 4 every year since 2004, the JI said in a statement.

The rally staged outside the Karachi Press Club was organised by the JI women wing.

Addressing the rally, Karachi JI chief Muhammad Husain Mehanti said: “the West has banned the use of veil in its anti-Islamicspirit.

“Modesty is a grace of woman, but in the West her veil has been removed and women have been made an object of decoration,” he said.
