CJ directs govt to reveal perpetrators of Karachi violence

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Monday adjourned the hearing of the suo motu case on the killings in Karachi until Tuesday, DawnNews reported.

During the hearing, Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry directed the government to apprise the court of the reasons behind and the perpetrators of bloodshed in Karachi.

A special bench of the apex court heard the case on Monday.

Special security arrangements were made for the day and roads leading to the Supreme Court’s Karachi registry had been blocked.

The special bench includes Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry, Justice Shakirullah Jan, Justice Nasirul Mulk, Justice Tariq Parvez and Justice Ghulam Rabbani.
