KHAIRPUR, Aug 21: A woman jumped into a canal after throwing her two-year-old son into it on Sunday.

According to her father-in-law, the woman was ill and had gone to the shrine of Pir Jilani with her son and younger brother.

Divers, called from Sukkur by DCO Mohamad Abbas Baloch, could not find the bodies till late evening.

SSP Irfan Baloch ordered an investigation into the case.
