MNA’s escape case Police told to submit charge sheet

RAWALPINDI, Aug 17: An anti-terrorism court on Wednesday directed the Shalimar police to submit complete challan in MNA Anjum Aqeel Khan’s escape case till August 24.

The PML-N lawmaker appeared before ATC-I Judge Malik Mohammad Akram Awan along with the 41 people who were allegedly involved in getting him forcibly released from police custody.

The police officials on the occasion sought more time for presenting the challan, which was granted by the court.

It may be noted that a citizen, Sabahat Ali, filed a case with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), claiming that the MNA took Rs950,000 from him for a plot but later did not transfer it to him.

Last month, when the MNA was arrested and being shifted to the Shalimar police station, dozens of PML-N supporters attacked the police and got him freed. A case was registered against the MNA under the anti-terrorism act for fleeing from police custody. — A Reporter
