QUETTA, Aug 7: The SHO of the New Sariab police station, Manzoor Tareen, was shot dead along with his security guard and driver here on Sunday evening.

According to sources, the station house officer was patrolling the Killi Shahnawaz area when men on motorcycles attacked his official vehicle with automatic weapons.

Police took the bodies to the Civil Hospital.

Mr Tareen had survived two earlier attempts on his life, including a bomb explosion near his vehicle in which he was injured.
