Proclaimed offender arrested

ISLAMABAD, Aug 3: The capital police on Wednesday arrested a proclaimed offender for his alleged involvement in double murder which he committed a year ago for honour.

Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Shahzad Town Circle Deputy Superintendent of Police Khurshid Khan told Dawn that the accused, IH, was arrested from a house in Village Tarki Kalan in Nilor police area.

The accused wanted to Nilor Police in connection with double murder committed in the first week of August 2010 in the nameof honour. Court has also declared him proclaimed offender in the case.

Later, he was shifted to police station and put behind bars. He will be produced in the court of law on Thursday.

The DSP said that the PO was an addict and would be interrogated with a lot of care. Besides capital police, the accused was also wanted to Gujar Khan Police in connection with two murders, Mr Khan added.

In August 2010, the accused along with his six other accomplices were in hiding in a jungle of Charah located at the boundary of capital and Azad Kashmir when two POs Zulfiqar Ali and Qamar Iqbal, wanted to Jhang Police in connection with murder and robbery, also joined them.

During the period of their hiding, one of the POs established illicit relation with the sister of IH as she along with her mother used to come over there to deliver foods, clothes and other necessity of lives to IH, the SDPO said.

After getting the information of illicit relation, IH in connivance with his accomplices axed Zulfiqar Ali and Qamar Iqbal to death and chopped them into the pieces.

They put their body parts in two sacks and dumped them in different localities in the limits of Nilor Police Station.

On September 2010, the police arrested five accomplices of IH, who during interrogation confessed to committing the double murder.
