HYDERABAD, Aug 1: A Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader and his neighbour were injured in a firing incident on Fatima Jinnah road here Monday.

Liaquat Colony sector member of MQM Syed Arshad Hussain, an employee of the Hyderabad Development Authority, and Mohammad Afzal were going towards Pakistan Chowk when they were intercepted by two armed motorcyclists who fired on him, hitting them in neck and abdomen. They were taken to Civil Hospital.

Police are reported to have picked up one Rizwan Zaidi, who is also stated to be an employee of HDA. No case has so far been lodged.
