KARACHI, July 31: Three armed dacoits barged into the house of Dawn’s senior staffer Mohiuddin Zia Siddiqi and took away cash and valuables on Sunday.

At around 11:30am the armed men entered the house (No.75-A Block 2) in PECHS and took Mr Zia’s son hostage at gunpoint.

The dacoits collected valuables, including gold and silver jewellery, cellphones, a laptop and expensive clothes, and escaped. The incident was reported at the Ferozabad police station.
