Movie: Transformers 3 – Dark of the Moon

During my childhood years, Transformers represented the best kind of cartoon entertainment around. The universe of these amazing robots that could turn into anything imaginable, captivated millions all over the world. So, when the universe came to life in a real motion picture trilogy, one simply could not help but be intrigued and amazed.

Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon focuses on government cover-ups and in this instance the concept has been made to add strength and suspense to the overall story of the film, which as always does not disappoint when it comes to state-of-the-art special effects and brilliant action sequences.

Furthermore, the movie provides us with yet another look into the civilisation and culture of the Transformers. This amazingly advanced race of beings has mastered the technology of teleportation on their planet and director Michael Bay has brilliantly presented the concept of teleportation, which is one of the main components of the movie.

Undoubtedly, on a visual level, this latest adventure proves to be the best. Unlike the action sequences in the previous instalments, Transformers 3 brings to life an entire army of Decepticon robots, battleships, and a brilliantly destructive force in the form of Shockwave that destroys skyscrapers. The fact that major action sequences take place in the middle of the big city adds to the impact of the action. To explain further how this has been done would only ruin the surprise for those who have yet to experience the event.

Although the film has its moments of humour, the focus has remained on the spectacular special effects and action sequences, rather than the personal experiences and thoughts of the characters, both robots and humans. Even though the plot provides us with surprises that have not been present in the previous stories, it does not become larger than the visual.

Bottom line – the movie is a must watch. Mind-blowing action sequences outplay every flaw in the movie, and the plot definitely adds a new twist to an already intriguing situation. Since no news of a future project has yet been released, this may well be the final journey for a while into the wondrous world of the Transformers.— Muhammad Ali Noor
