Robbers shoot at four passengers

KASUR, July 19: Robbers shot at and injured four passengers on Kasur- Deepalpur Road in the limits of Allahabad police station on Monday night.Reports reaching here said a gang of six robbers set up a picket on the highway near Talvandi village, about a kilometer away from the police post, and deprived many passengers of cash and other valuables.

They intercepted a car and looted bank manager Manzoor Ahmed and Habibullaha of Rs20,000 and cell phone. They shot at and injured Manzoor Ahmed when he put up resistance. He was referred to Lahore in critical condition.

The gang, meanwhile, intercepted two milkmen Nadeem and Waseem, and injured the two brothers when they also put up resistance.

Muhammad Khalid of Shorkot was the fourth victim of the robbers who received bullet injuries on offering resistance. The robbers snatched a sum of Rs120,000 and cell phone from Khalid.

Police was yet to launch an FIR as it did not receive any application against the accused robbers.

THREE KILLED: Irrigation water dispute claimed three lives on Tuesday at Chah Havalian, Jamsher Kalan, in the limits of Kanganpur police station.

According to details, Noor Ahmed and Nasarullah had a dispute over the irrigation water and land. On Tuesday, Noor Ahmed and Nasrullaha had an exchange of words that eventually led to an exchange of fire.

As a result, Nasrullaha, his brother-in-law Abdul Razzaq and Muhammad Khalid of Noor Ahmed group died on the spot. Noor Ahmed and his accomplice Bashir Ahmed sustained injuries and were rushed to civil hospital, Kanganpur. They were stated to be in critical condition.

Chunian circle DSP Javid Iqbal has established teams for the arrest of the absconding accused of both the parties.
