Youth`s killing SPSF leader among six held

SUKKUR, July 18: A leader of the Sindh People's Students Federation surrendered before police in Jacobabad on Monday after four members of his family, including his sister and mother, were picked up by a police team investigating the killing of a youth by robbers.

Police conducted raids in different localities of the city, took five more suspects in custody and were interrogating them at different police stations.

The police team, investigating the killing of Suneel Kumar on his resistance to a robbery bid on Saturday evening, conducted a raid on the house of Ali Khan Gulwani and took his four relatives in custody. Gulwani surrendered at the Abad police station after which police freed his mother, sister and other relatives.

Talking to journalists, he said that he was innocent and had nothing to do with the killing of Suneel Kumar. He called upon the PPP leadership and the Sindh government to order an inquiry into the incident and provide him justice, adding that he was ready to face punishment if he was proved guilty.

Police on the complaint of Preetam Das Karira, father of Suneel Kumar, have registered an FIR against three unidentified accused.Deputy Commissioner of Jacobabad Sajid Jamal Abro along with traders' leader Mir Ahmed Ali Brohi and Mukhtiarkar Abu Bakar Sadhayo went to the Punchayat Hall where he offered condolence to relatives of deceased and President of Hindu Punchayat Mahesh Kumar Lakhani.

The DC assured them the killers of Suneel Kumar would be arrested soon and the bereaved family would be provided justice.

District president of the Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party Ali Mohammad Lashari in a statement has condemned the killing and urged the police to arrest the killers.
