Hardened criminal killed

DERA GHAZI KHAN, July 11: Police killed a hardened criminal in a shootout late on Sunday near Shah Sadardin, 15 kilomotres from here, District Police Officer Malik Tasaduq Hayat Awan told a press briefing on Monday.

Patrolling police came across five people on two motorcyclists, who started firing on the police unprovoked and in retaliation, one motorcyclist was killed.

The deceased later happened to be Nazar Husain Makwal, a hardened criminal with a Rs1 million head price. This money will be distributed to policemen who took part in the shootout.

He said the other motorcyclists were also proclaimed offenders who were Abbas Jarwar, Sharif, Abdul Ghafoor and Javed Lashari. They all fled while three policemen Rafiq, Ghulam Farid and Mohammad also got minor injuries. — Correspondent
