Youth booked for slapping policewoman

LAHORE, July 6: Ichhra police on Wednesday registered a case against the son of a retired Wapda officer for allegedly slapping a female traffic inspector over a car parking dispute.

Police inquiries showed that Inspector Nargis, who was on duty at Ichhra Main Bazaar, asked a motorist identified as Khaqan Humayun, who had wrongly parked the car, to remove his vehicle.

This led to exchange of arguments between the two following which Khaqan, who was accompanied by his wife, stepped out of the car, pushed the policewoman and slapped her.

People gathered on the spot and overpowered the youth who was later handed over to the Ichhrapolice.

A case under multiple sections of the Pakistan Penal Code was registered against Khaqan.

The Rescue-1122 staff shifted the victims of food poisoning, 42-year-old Sakina Adil, her daughters Rabia, 18, Sadia, 17, Sania, 16, and Kiran, 14, and sons Adnan, 12, and Usman, 10, to the Lahore General Hospital.
