New born kidnapped amid power outage

SUKKUR, June 29: Two women, taking advantage of power outage, kidnapped a three-day-old baby from hospital in the small hours of Wednesday.

The incident took place in the Gynaecology Ward No 1 of Shaikh Zaid Women's Hospital in Larkana.

Sardaran, wife of a daily wager Sahib Khan Magsi delivered a baby boy through C-section on Sunday.

Sardaran said that her son was crying because of stifling heat amid power outage. The two women, whom she got acquainted with in the hospital since Monday, took her baby outside for fresh air and did not return even after many hours.

A case of kidnapping was registered at the Waleed Police Station against unknown women by Hakim Ali Magsi, brother of Sardaran.

Medical Superintendent of the hospital Dr Zulfiqar Sial had formed a committee to probe the kidnapping of baby.
