Bail plea rejected

KARACHI, June 25: A special court for Control of Narcotics Substance (CNS) on Saturday dismissed the bail application of an accused in a narcotics case.

Mohammad Ijaz has been accused of possessing 1.15 kilograms of heroin when he was arrested in a Defence Housing Authority area in March this year.

The accused through his lawyer filed a bail application in the court.

However, the judge of the special CNS court-II, Sanaullah Khan Ghoury, dismissed the plea after hearing both sides.

According to the prosecution, the crime investigation department (CID) acting on a tip-off apprehend the suspect in the DHA area on March 27 and found 1.15 kilo of heroin in his custody.

A case (FIR No.111/2011) was registered against the accused under Section 6/9-C of the CNS Act, 1997 at the CID police station.
