15 killed as two militant groups clash

KALAYA, June 25: A gunfight between two pro-Taliban outfits in Saifel Darra area of Orakzai Agency left 15 people dead and seven others injured on Saturday, sources said.

They said that militant groups led by Ziaur Rehman and Abdul Nabi were exchanging ‘hostages’ when the fighting broke out.An eyewitness said that

11 supporters of the Nabi group were killed while Zia group lost four people in the clash. He said that supporters of ‘Commander’ Nabi captured two opponents and took them to an unknown location.

Taliban militants have strong presence in Saifel Darra, some 32km south of Kalaya, the administrative headquarters of the agency.
