Quack treating patients with vet medicines held

TAXILA, June 18: The district health authorities during a crackdown held a quack who was treating patients with veterinary medicines in Chachi Mohallah of Wan Cantonment the other day.

The health team headed by Drug Inspector Munir Ahmed also sealed a number of clinics and medical stores run by the quacks.

Sources said that on public complaints the health officials raided the clinic run by Shahid Mehmood and found that he was injectingveterinary medicines to the patients. During search, it was also found that the quack was also selling unregistered and Indian-made medicines banned by the Ministry of Health. A large number of veterinary vials were also seized from the said clinic which was sealed and the banned medicines were taken into custody. A legal action against the quack had also been initiated in the drugs court.

During crack down, the health team also found an unqualified person namely Asif Ali treating patients as doctor in village Kolian near Wah Cantt. While a medical store located on GT Road was charge sheeted for selling expired medicines. Moreover, the health team took samples of medicines from different clinics and dispatched to the drug laboratory, Lahore for clinical examination.
