Jewellery shop looted

RAWALPINDI, June 16: Two gunmen looted a jewellery shop at Benazir Bhutto Road in broad daylight on Thursday, police said.

The gunmen entered Rubi Jewellers posing as customers and asked Yasir Ali, the jeweller, to show them gold rings. As Yasir put some gold rings and a necklace before them, they pulled out their guns and forced him to give up all the jewellery boxes. The bandits snatched six gold necklaces and 12 gold rings and escaped. The value of the looted items is yet to be estimated.

In another incident, four gunmen stormed a small factory in Pirwadhai and looted Rs100,000 and also took away a motorbike from the premises.

Mohammad Ali, the owner of the factory, complained to the police that the gunmen held him and other workers hostage and forced them to give up the cash. — Staff Reporter
