2 torture victims recovered

UMERKOT, June 14: Police have recovered two married women who were detained by their husbands in the village of Din Muhammad Maher and subjected to severe torture.

On the order of the district and sessions judge of Umerkot, police also arrested the accused during the raid on Monday

Two sisters Arifa and Loona had been married to two brothers Gulji and Sarwan Oad. Their husbands detained them in separate rooms.

Ms Arifa told this reporter that her husband had also attempted to set her on fire during which her right arm received burn injuries.

The judge ordered police for the recovery on the complaint of Gagan Oad, father of the victims. —Correspondent
