Missing boy found dead

RAWALPINDI, June 3: A 10-year-old brick kiln worker, who was kidnapped two days ago, was found strangled after being molested on Chakra Road on Friday, police said.

Mohammad Irfan, 10, son of Fazal Karim went missing last Wednesday while going to the kiln. His family continued to search for him since his disappearance but to no avail.

On Friday some passersby spotted the body of the boy lying in a dry underground tank of an under-construction house and informed the boy’s parents.

On information, the police arrived and started preliminary investigation which suggested that the boy was molested and later strangled. — Staff Reporter

Man killed

RAWALPINDI, June 3: A 24-year-old man was shot dead while his aunt was shot injured as some unidentified gunmen forced their way into their house on Adiala Road, police said.

Ali Zaki, son of Ali Hadi, was gunned down while his aunt Ms Mumtaz was shot and injured. The victims were removed to Benazir Bhutto Hospital where the injured was stated to be in stable condition. — Staff Reporter

Spurious juices

ISLAMABAD, June 3: A factory producing spurious mineral water and juices was unearthed during a raid in capital’s rural area and two persons were arrested, police said on Friday. However, the owners of the factory managed to escape from the scene.

The police sources said that a customer lodged a complaint with the food controller of the capital administration that he had found a housefly in a juice bottle which he purchased from a local shop on Thursday. While acting on the complaint, the food inspector came to the shop and inquired about the juice and its manufacturer. The shopkeeper gave a lead to the factory making spurious juices and mineral water.

The food inspector along with the area magistrate and police team of Koral police station raided the factory located in the area of Paracha Chowk, Tarlai and found 260 cartons of juices and 47 cartons of mineral water.

Two workers of the factory were also taken into custody during the raid. — Staff Reporter

7 outlaws arrested

ISLAMABAD, June 3: The police have arrested seven persons from different areas of the city and recovered narcotics and illegal weapons from their possession, a police spokesman said on Friday.

He said the Koral police arrested two persons and recovered hashish weighing 330grams while the Bhara Kahu police arrested a bootlegger and recovered eight bottles of liquor from his possession. The Tarnol police recovered a 30-bore pistol, six bullets and two magazines during a physical search of a suspect. The Sabzi Mandi police arrested a person and recovered 310gms of hashish and 80grams of heroin from him. — Staff Reporter
