31 stolen vehicles returned to owners

LAHORE, May 31: The police handed over 31 vehicles, which were snatched by robbers and recovered during investigation, to the owners at a ceremony at Qilla Gujjar Singh Police Lines on Tuesday. CCPO Malik Ahmad Raza Tahir handed over the vehicles to the owners.

Talking to reporters, the CCPO said that action against criminal gangs was imperative.

He said the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Staff recovered 464 cars out of which 232 were recovered from Lahore alone in last four months.

He said that 70 proclaimed offenders, 75 absconders were arrested and three gangs involved in stealing/snatching cars were also busted.

Moreover, 342 motorbikes were recovered in the last four months out of which 312 were recovered from Lahore alone.

VISIT: CCPO Tahir also visited the offices of operations DIG and chief traffic officer and showed his satisfaction over security and cleanliness arrangements.

According to a handout, the CCPO checked records and also directed the officials concerned to keep their record up to date.
