QUETTA, May 23: Prominent cleric and Imam of Eidgah Mosque Maulana Abdul Jalil Mohammad Hasani was gunned down in Toghi road area on Monday.

According to police, Maulana Jalil was going home when terrorists who were on motorcycle opened fire at him.

The Maulana was seriously injured and taken to Civil Hospital where he died.

The younger brother of Maulana Jalil, who also was a Imam of a mosque in the same area, was killed in May 2010.

Police have registered a case, but no arrest was made till late Monday night.
