Two arrested for Gamay Shah blasts

LAHORE, May 16: Law-enforcement agencies have captured two alleged terrorists in connection with the suicide attacks on the Chehlum procession of Hazrat Ali (RA) near Karbala Gammy Shah.

The arrests yielded explosives, suicide jackets and sophisticated weapons.

Sources claimed on Monday that Qari Mustafa and Commander Ameen were picked up from a locality in Lahore for their alleged support to the suicide bombers.

Three suicide bombers had targeted the religious procession on September 2 last year, killing at least 35 people and wounding 200.

It was the first major attack in Pakistan since devastating floods engulfed a fifth of the country during and after monsoon rains in 2010.

The string of blasts ripped through the crowd at the moment of the breaking of fast in the holy month of Ramazan.
