Woman acquitted

KARACHI, May 12: A three-member drugs court headed by Saathi M. Ishaq on Thursday acquitted a woman in a case pertaining to the manufacturing of substandard drugs.

Shireen Naz, the official in charge of the quality control section of an Islamabad-based private drugs manufacturing company, along with others, had been facing trial for many years.

The accused through her lawyer filed an acquittal application under Section 265-A of the criminal procedure code. The court ruled that the laboratory analysis were found to be defective. —Staff Reporter
