Police rescue two brothers

LAHORE, May 10: Ravi Road police rescued on Tuesday two brothers with their hands cuffed and feet battered from the possession of a cattle trader near Baba Chattriwala Darbar and handed them over to the Child Welfare and Protection Bureau.

City SP (operations) Dr Shahzad Asif told Dawn Ramzan, 14, and Shahzad, 12, sons of Nawaz, were working as bonded labour at the residence and outhouse of Tahir. He said police raided the house when some neighbours alerted them.

Ramzan and Shahzad told police that Tahir and his family would subject them to torture and keep them confined with their hands cuffed and feet battered.

He said police findings showed that Nawaz had given his children to Tahir for domestic work. The SP said police were conducting raids to arrest Tahir.
