Six killed, 2 injured in Thatta clash

THATTA, May 10: Six people died and two others received injuries as two groups of farmers clashed over irrigating a disputed farmland in Ghazi Khan Chang village near Mirpur Bathoro on Tuesday.

Witnesses and police sources said both of the groups opened fire on each other as one of them attempted to irrigate a 12-acres piece of agriculture land lying barren for the couple of years.

The clash resulted into instant death of three brothers viz; Mehboob Siyal, Shabbir Siyal and Mohib Siyal besides Razzaq Chang and Munawar Chang both son and father and their relative Ramzan Chang.

The bodies were buried in Hyder Shah graveyard after autopsy at taluka hospital Mirpur Bathoro.

The two critically injured — Hyder Chang and one whose identity could not be ascertained — were immediately rushed to a Hyderabad hospital for treatment.

Tension gripped the area after the incident.

No FIR could be registered till late Tuesday evening.
