Woman killed in accident

ATTOCK, May 5: A woman was killed and five other people were injured in two separate road accidents in different areas of the district. Police sources said that a woman Saima Bibi, resident of Dhoke Laham came back after performing Umra on Wednesday night. She along with her relatives was going to her village in a car. When they reached near Khor village, their car collided with a tractor trolley. Resultantly, three persons Haji Muhammad Saddique, Haji Ahmed Deen and Saima Bibi sustained injuries and were rushed to the local hospital. Saima Bibi succumbed to her injuries in the hospital.

Meanwhile, three persons Shoiab Khan, Muzammal and Waqas were injured seriously as two motorcycles collided near Kamrial village. — Correspondent

15 held for stealing oil

CHAKWAL, May 5: As many as 15 persons were arrested on the charges of stealing diesel from a Nato tanker, sources told Dawn on Thursday. According to details, a Nato oil tanker was parked at a bridge near Dhok Pathan of thesil Talagang when fifteen persons came there and began to steal oil from it. A passerby, seeing the incident, informed the police. Sub-Inspector Saddar police station Khawar Abbas along with a police contingent rushed to the scene and arrested all the fifteen persons.

Meanwhile, a driver and a conductor were arrested for stealing diesel from a Nato tanker near Paira Fatheh Khal village. They were identified as Mohammad Adeel and Amanullah. — Correspondent

Young doctors strike

RAWALPINDI, May 5: The young doctors would go on an indefinite strike in all the government-run hospitals across Punjab from May 11 if their demand regarding pay raise and better salary structure was not accepted by the Punjab government.

The professors of the medical colleges will join the Young Doctors Association (YDA) in the strike.

“If the government did not respond positively to their demand, the young doctors of the Punjab from Rawalpindi to Rahimyar Khan would hold a long march to Lahore,” said Dr. Muhammad Haroon, YDA Punjab Chairman, while talking to Dawn on Thursday. — A Reporter
