Mob lynches robber

HYDERABAD, May 5: Two persons, including an alleged bandit, were killed while a businessman was injured in Latifabad unit-7 late on Wednesday.

The bandit was lynched by an angry mob following an armed robbery. Business centers in Latifabad remained closed in protest on Thursday.

Three bandits entered Zahid communications in unit-7 Latifabad to commit robbery. Businessmen offered strong resistance and were fired upon, hitting Zaid and Faiq, both brothers. In a similar robbery, a few years ago, one of their brothers, Amir was also gunned down. They belonged to Gaddi community.

Zahid later breathed his last in the civil hospital while Faiq was admitted.

During resistance, they also fired on the armed robbers, hitting one of them. He was later identified as Sufyan Burmi, son of Noor Mohammad Burmi, a resident of Moosa colony, Karachi.

An angry mob caught Sufyan, beat him with stones and bricks, and finally shot him dead by his weapon. Police seized the pistol and a bike from the spot. His two accomplices escaped.
