Watchman killed, two shops looted

ATTOCK, April 21: A watchman was killed and two mobile phone shops were looted by unknown robbers in Pindigheb on Wednesday late in the evening.

Police sources said that some unknown armed robbers looted cash and mobile phone accessories worth Rs600,000 from two shops located in a mobile phone market at the Bank Road Pindigheb after killing watchman Mumraiz Khan. The local traders and other people after the incident gathered at the market and staged a protest demonstration against the robbery-cum-murder incident.

They demanded early arrest of the culprits involved in the incident.

On information, DSP Pindigheb rushed to the scene and assured the protesters that the robbers would be arrested at the earliest. At his assurance, the protesters dispersed peacefully.

Meanwhile, a service man was killed and three others sustained injuries in separate incidents in the district. Police said that a service man Shahid Ahmed died and his fellow Shafqat Fida was seriously injured when his motorcycle was hit by a over speeding car near Teenmeala Chowk on Attock-Kamra road. Attock city police registered a case against the accused car driver.

In another incident, Bashir Ahmed, resident of Dairylagal village reported to Attock sadder police station that his brother Rashid Ahmed and uncle Jhanzaib were allegedly attacked by a village fellow Muhammad Shoaib over a minor dispute during the marriage ceremony of his brother. As a result both sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital. — Correspondent
