Baby tortured to rob mother

RAWALPINDI, April 14: Three robbers, who made their forced entry into a house in Lalazar II on Thursday, showed utter callousness and cruelty when they held an infant upside down just to force her mother to hand them over the cash and ornaments.

Sheikh Naseer and his wife had gone to a nearby market to buy some grocery while their daughter Shanzagul with her three children was at home when three unidentified persons entered into the house and held the inmates hostage.

Ms Daud, close relative of the victim said, “One of the robbers picked up 12-month-old Urush and held her upside down in front of her mother and threatened to kill her baby if the cash and gold ornaments were not given to them.”

The sobbing mother begged the gunmen to leave her little daughter and take away whatever they wanted.

She said that the mother got terrified at the inhumane behaviour of the robbers and handed them over Rs1.1 million and 16 tolas of gold ornaments.

Later, the robbers escaped from the scene after locking the woman and children inside a room.

Ms Daud said nobody could see the robbers while fleeing.

Later, on information, the police reached there and asked some questions from the victim related to the robbery and simply left the crime scene.
