4 security men injured in Awaran bomb blast

QUETTA, April 6: Four security personnel were injured in a remote-controlled bomb blast in Mashkay area of Awaran district on Wednesday, sources said.

Militants planted the bomb along a road on the outskirts of Mashkay town and detonated it by remote control when a Frontier Corps van was passing through the area.

Four FC men were injured and their vehicle was badly damaged in the explosion.

The injured were taken to hospital by the personnel of Levies Force and Frontier Corps. Security forces launched a search operation in the area after the incident and detained some suspects for questioning.

NATO TANKERS:Tankers carrying fuel for Nato forces in Afghanistan were attacked and torched in Dhadar area of Bolan district on Wednesday.

Levies Force officials said that two oil tankers were on their way to Afghanistan from Karachi when six gunmen on three motorbikes opened fire at them.

They asked the tanker drivers and fellow travellers to get off the vehicles. The two tankers were then set on fire.

Police and Levies Force personnel reached the site of the incident but failed to control the fire, allowing the tankers to destroy.

Meanwhile, armed men attacked a house with a hand grenade in Faiz Mohammad village of Nasirabad district.

Sources said that the grenade exploded in the courtyard of the house damaging doors and windows, police said, adding that residents of the house remained safe.
