Cable operator shot dead

RAWALPINDI, April 2: A cable operator was shot dead over a petty issue in Dhoke Khabba graveyard the other day, police said.Malik Asad Waqar, 19, was attacked when he was walking through the graveyard at abourt 4 pm.

The deceased had a scuffle with one Noni son of Lal Mohammad over a petty issue on Thursday. However, the issue was resolved by the notables of the area at that time.

Sub-inspector Sikander Khan, who is leading the investigation into the murder case said that Asad was passing through the graveyard when Noni challenged him and opened fire killing him on the spot. He said the killer was yet to be arrested.

Meanwhile, a fruit vendor was stabbed in the neck by a person in bustling Naswari Bazar on Friday.Mohammad Deen was removed to the District Headquarters Hospital where his condition is stated to be critical. —Staff Reporter
